Synergos will initially represent 100,000 of Index's highest quality images, in a broad territory that includes Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Nicaragua.

Synergos was founded in 1980 by a team of computer systems specialists. In 1990, they created a new branch dedicated to the production of filmed TV commercials, documentaries and videos, “as part of an integrated scheme of Information Management.” By 1994 Synergos was known for its Communication and Cinema Specialists, and Photography and Television Directors, who counseled companies in the development of internal and external communication programs. In 1997, the company offered its first Royalty Free photography products. At present, Synergos “marketing strategy reaches Publishers, Newspapers, Advertising Agencies, Networks, Production & Post-Production companies, Graphic Designers and Internet/Intranet Development.

According to Irma de la Mora, Director of Synergos, the Internet did not “seriously start to develop in Mexico until mid 2002.” “Synergos developed its own website in 2003, synergosimages.com, to support its customer service strategy.” Through this Web site, Index will be offering a wide range of both Rights Managed and Royalty Free images that cover such subject areas as travel, landscape, lifestyle, business, communications, science, technology and nature.
